FW200 Condor claim by SS Inishtrahull

Hi All,
On 13 March 1941 the vessel SS Inishtrahull claimed to have shot down a FW200 Condor using a Holman Projector ( source Poolman, Scourge of the Atlantic) Is this claim correct?
Many thanks for any help

Oblt. Vüllers made 3 attack in F8+CL but missed with all his bombs. According to his mission report F8+CL was hit 7 times (5 MG- und 2 Flaktreffer).
They landed 15:33 at Brest, but the Condor wasn't very badly damaged since they took-off again 16:47 and flew to Bordeaux.

Re: FW200 Condor claim by SS Inishtrahull

Hi Tony,

Just some info regarding Inishtrahull, there was one bomb hit on the ship. It was an unexploded bomb that lodged in the fordeck, between the foc'sle bulkhead and hatch coaming. The crew dislodged it and dumped it overboard.

Regards,

Mark

Martin,

At 1000 hrs Inishtrahull was 1.5 miles SW of Eagle Island, Donegal. FW200 was first sighted at 1010 hrs.

Mark

Re: FW200 Condor claim by SS Inishtrahull

Hello All,
The location I have is 5 miles west of Annagh Head Co Mayo at 10.12 hrs. this is more or less in line with Mark. I believe that there were three FW200 Condors from Bordeaux operating that day.
