Dear Byron,

Thank you very much! On something of a side note, does the KTB give any indication as to the proportion of Bf 109K-4s in Luftflotte 6 fighter units?

Regards,

Paul

Hello Byron,

That's fine, the information is great regardless of that! If I can look at the diary at Kew, I'll be able to answer my own question. Looking at the loss reports, K-4s seem fairly rare anyway.

Regards,

Paul Thompson

Yes, interesting to find orders relating to this in a KTB. Here's some additional info about the mentioned events (if you can read German): http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freiheitsaktion_Bayern

Christian

A bit late (in regard to postings #29 and #30), but here is a photo of J2+23. It's from the G.F. Petrov collection and was published in the Squadron Walkaround No. 43. Too bad this one is not in the Lfl.6 listings...

Regards,
Christian

Re: Losses in the last days of the Reich

Hello,

Thank you Christian!
J2 is clearly visible (at least on that one).
Noticeable is the white(?) trim around numbers, and size. A Bf 109G-6? More details?
A stupid question: What we read on other side: that is; J2 is still in front of cross (from left to right) or behind?

Cheers, Franck.

Re: Losses in the last days of the Reich

Hi Byron-,

thanks for sharing this material.
If you have time and also material from Luftflotte 7 in your treasure, I'm looking for the losses in South Germany especially from April 22nd till April 26th.
Would be great if you could provide it. If not, no problem.

Thanks in advance

Rolfeb

Losses in the last days of the Reich

bryon, thank you for taking the time to post these pages. It really is invaluable information for the later months of the war for anyone undertaking any detailed research.

Regards Richard.
