Hi Jerry,
The ref. was to the 357th FG which included Weavers 362 FS. I checked the book ' The 357th. Over Europe' and it says the two ground claims on the 17th. went to John Duncan and Anton Shoepke. The Claims list and the text in the book both show the 18th as the day Chuck Weaver shot down a 262 , Weaver also lost his wingman to Flak this mission with Lt. Oscar T. Ridley baling out and spending the rest of the war with the Czech underground, Regards Brian Bines |
