Robert ‘Bobby’ Laumans
"Bobby" Laumans passed away in the evening of 21st April 2014, aged 93
Having escaped to the UK at the outbreak of War he trained to fly spitfires and served on 74 Sqn and 350 Sqn RAF. On the 1st June 1942, Bobby was shot down near Ostend, stayed 2 days and 3 nights in his dinghy and was subsequently picked up by the Germans and sent to Stalag Luft III. After the War he joined SABENA. Rest in peace Bobby !!! Serge |
