Bf 109 against Bf 109?

Forum member Denes Bernad describes combat between Luftwaffe and Rumanian Bf 109Gs in February 1945 in his excellent book 'Rumanian Aces of World War 2'. Rumanian aces Cantacuzino and Darjan shot down by JG 53, according to Denes. Darjan was KIA. No doubt Denes can add further when he visits the forum, or get hold of the book.

It is just my guess that perhaps some Bf 109 F may have supported the invasion against Yugoslavia - I do not state that this is confirmed by any reliable sources. As far as I remember the details from the IK-3 article of old "Aircraft in profile" volume, it mentioned only German Bf 109 E taking part in air combats vs. Yugoslavs. Emil was still the main fighter of Luftwaffe on April of 1941.

I have edited a long story focused on VVKJ v. Luftwaffe + RA + MKHL in 2013. More info. and actual, corrected then written in fundamental book done by Christopher Shores, Brian Cull and Nicola Malizia, Air War for Yugoslavia, Greece and Crete, 1940-41 b (1987). Photos are rare, and good reproduced, colors nice. Combats Me 109s v Me 109s too.

Text 100% in Polish, no English on 21 pages of A-4 size.
