I think the first photograph is "real" since it appears in "Signal : Years of Retreat 1943-1944" I think the stage is staged, with no real danger to the personnel. There is another picture in this book (enclosed below) of another crashed P-38 in Tunisia, along with another E-Bay picture of a crashed P-38

Hi all,
thanks for identifiing one from photo like P-39 - changed in my archive :-) To kaki3152 - thanks for posting for me new photos of crashed P-38 Lightnings from 14th FG and there is a similar photo of ES-Z If anybody have some info about these maschines (date, pilot name, serial number), please share with us.
