USAF Phantom crash
Hallo
Sometimes in the early '70s a American F4 Phantom crashed near my Hometown Steinfurt-Borghorst, 20 Miles west of Münster, near the Dutch border. Both pilots ejected and survived. Does anyone more informations die me? Thanks, Rene. |

Re: USAF Phantom crash
Rene,
Just wondering: do you have date to give us or are you referring to the date of the RF-4C crash? Phantom may have been RAFG as well? Regards, Leendert |

Re: USAF Phantom crash
OK. No need to look for RF-4C 64-1011. This one definitively came down in the Atlantic...

Re: USAF Phantom crash
I have to retract my previous post.
Joe Baugher has 64-1011 (also) with 30th TRS, 10th TRW, based at RAF Alconbury, UK, in 1970. Crash located at "Burgheast, UK", adding to the confusion. At least it puts this Phantom in Europe... The F-4 that ended up in the Atlantic on ferry flight from Robins AFB to Torrejon AB, Spain therefore most likely to be another one. Regards, Leendert |
