It is strange that eBay does not keep the original listing open after it ends but arbitrarily replaces it with whatever they want. It is confusing to me.

Re: eBay: German intrest

Never minder Ed. We put in the finds when we find them . If that is nog enough , those members should disregard our findings and look for their own. EBay replaces past auctions as explained before.

Rémi, thank you.
Was the Do 217-V4 the only example of this configuration?

No, there were two very small pre-series: the Do 217A and the Do 217C.

Re: eBay: German intrest

edwest2 and Snautzer.
It is disappointing that ebay deletes photos when they no longer need them, but it is a business and there is no profit in keeping sold items active.

I have an extensive archive of downloaded photos of Luftwaffe aircraft from old ebay auctions on my hard drive which I would gladly share publicly if I could find a suitable stable website. I initially intended to use Photobucket but now it is almost unusable due to pop-ups. Then I tried Pinterest but photos must be uploaded one at a time which would take several years. I found some discussion groups but they seem to spring up and then quickly wither with monotonous regularity.

Have you tried with Flickr? Marc-Andre has his archive there since a couple of years and it seems quite stable. You can upload several photos at once too.

Try Smugmug (smugmug.com). Not free, but the best. unlimited storage at full resolution.

Re: eBay: German intrest

Good point, Steven, about ebay, but they have made a few unannounced changes which are not helpful. In the case of a seller, there is now a screen that looks like it was prepared for stock market reporting, not the average person. When I called about this, I was told I could not get the old, simpler, easy to use screen back. Paypal has made a few unnecessary changes as well. Oh well.
