Battle of Britain survivors

Well, does anyone know how many German BoB participants are still alive? A few names like Meimberg, Moelders, Rudorffer or Steinhilper come to my mind, but I think there should be many more.

Re: Battle of Britain survivors

Hans-Ekkehard Bob, Hajo Hermann (I believe both still alive) and - of course -
Günther Rall. Just a few famous names...

Cheers,
Artur

Christer Bergström will become famous soon enough
Re: Battle of Britain survivors

As far as I can remember, I can add Erhard Jähnert, Rolf Hermichen, Adolf Dickfeld and Hugo Dahmer.

Of course these names represent only a fraction of the survivors.

Re: Battle of Britain survivors

indeed Christer - by way of example, HRH Prince Michael of Kent attended the 10th Anniversary of the unveiling of the Battle of Britain Memorial by Her Majesty The Queen Mother at Capel le Ferne - on the cliffs between Dover and Folkestone - on 13th July 2003 - over fifty former BoB Hurricane and Spitfire pilots attended..

Re: Battle of Britain survivors

And of course there ought to be many more German veterans than RAF Fighter Command veterans, considering the large number of bomber crews which participated in the Battle.
