Re: Spitfire Crash Sadaung 1945
Have any further details turned up about this incident? I am in the process of compiling Spitfire Accidents in SEAC and the details would be helpful.

Scratch that..
This one is it - confirmed 1945-04-02 On returning from the Miektila Patrols, Sgt G R Valc was coming into land from the north and hit a truck which was crossing the North end of the strip. His aircraft was wrecked finishing on its back on fire and Sgt Vale had a mraculous escape, being pulled from the aircraft by the joint efforts of Flt Lt Rowan of Ferry Command and LAC C F Sullivan of 132 R&SU . Sgt Vale received secondary burns of arms and a lacerated forehead. The driver of the lorry, an IOR was killed. |
