A Hungarian ace passed away

Just got the very sad news from the family: 1st Lieutenant László Máthé passed away yesterday. He ended the war as a squadron commander and an ace with 12 kills. He lived in Argentina after the war and passed away there as well.

May he rest in peace, he was a very brave and tough officer and an excellent fighter pilot.

P.S. You can read more about him in my forthcoming Hungarian aces book.

That´s sad... So you could contact some ones in Argentina. Hope the contacts are being useful for your research.
Hugs,

Sergio - as I mentioned you long time ago, finally found László Máthé, but unfortunately, I cannot find the family of Lipcsey in Argentina...

See you soon,

Csaba,

I have a couple of requests with regard to László Máthé. Do you know where in Argentina he died? Do you have an obituary for him, or know where I might obtain one? Even in Spanish. Finally, do you have his date and place of birth?

Frank Olynyk.

Re: A Hungarian ace passed away

He was born on 28 August, 1919, but my book contains not just these basic details, but much-much more about him (and about other aces): details of his kills, including his Liberator with Serial no, unit and even a photo of the wreck, number of sorties, his nicknames, his very detailed military career in four pages, his Hungarian and German awards with the awarding dates etc, etc, etc

Re: A Hungarian ace passed away

Csaba,

Thanks for the birthdate information. Will your book be in English or Hungarian? Do you have an expected publication date? I look forward to seeing it, regardless of the language.

Frank.

Re: A Hungarian ace passed away

Frank,

The release of the Hungarian edition is October, 2006. Regarding the English version, I don't have contract with a publisher, yet.
