Oblt. Dr. Werner Breigleb, NJG. 2 and 3. 1923-2019
Late, though sad news Dr. Werner passed away peacefully in late July. A JU 88 pilot who earned the DK. I Gold and the front flying clasps. Typically, a quiet reserved true gentleman who built a decent, productive life after the war. He was most surprised when a model company produced decals for one of his aircraft.
Saddens me that our organization is poorer, and that this is the third obituary I must post, consecutively. |

Sad news indeed, one of the few night pilots still with us.
I always thought his first name was Walter, do I need to amend my records accordingly? Thank you for the update.

Possibly, he changed his name post-war. He would not be the only one.
Anyway, during the war he was Oberleutnant Walter Briegleb. Briegleb Source: Kracker Archive |

Briegleb's first name was Walter and he did not change his name after the war.
