KuK Captured Aircraft
Hello,
Currently on ebay are a series of photos of aircraft captured by KuK forces. Not being too familiar with these machines any information on the types of aircraft shown would be most welcome: Savoia-Pomilio https://www.ebay.de/itm/C84-gr-Foto-...UAAOSwGj9eU-Lj Caproni Ca.703 https://www.ebay.de/itm/C36-Beuteflu...0AAOSwj-5eTPMQ Caproni Ca.2609 https://www.ebay.de/itm/C35-Beuteflu...oAAOSwSw5eTO22 Farman MF 825 https://www.ebay.de/itm/C40-K-u-k-Lu...cAAOSwrzBeTPIb Anatra VI? https://www.ebay.de/itm/C24-K-u-k-Lu...UAAOSw3fFeTBSr Regards, Clint |

Re: KuK Captured Aircraft
Hi Clint
A very interesting selection of aircraft. The SP is the SP.3 4530 shot down by Josef Kiss 13 July 1917 and later given the serial 00.47 (probably never carried) The Caproni 703 is a Ca.1 which was captured in late 1917 and sent to Phönix to be repaired in December 1917. It became 00.52 but again I doubt that serial was actually carried The Caproni Ca.3 2609 is a puzzle. It is not included in any lists I have as captured. Do the individuals in the photo really look like Austro-Hungarians? The MF.11 is another unidentified one, but as with the Ca.3 above there are gaps in the captured aircraft lists. Finally the Russian aircraft is not any Anatra VI (I don't believe there actually was anything like that. Russian sources identifies a modified Voisin type as the Anatra-Voisin V.I. and you are probably thinking about that one.) Actually I believe this is a regular Voisin III captured by the A-Hs. Again nothing in the captured lists Cheers Stig |

Re: KuK Captured Aircraft
Hi Stig,
Thanks for all the responses. I've actually received Gentilli and Varriale's I Reparti dell' Aviazione Italiana nelle Grande Guerra this week. I've yet to 'database it' but hopefully MF.825 is included somewhere in the text.I've already seen references to MF.824 and MF826 through MF.829. How annoying no MF.825 yet. Regards, Clint |
