Information concerning the loss of Oberfeldwebel Josef Grauvogl - nachtjager - killed 18.03.44
Hi,
Can anyone provide information on the unit and loss of Oberfeldwebel Josef Grauvogl who was a member of a nachtjagd crew and was lost on a mission on the 18th March 1944? Thanks Rick

Reichenau an der Rax (3 km west of), Neunkirchen district (Austria) Nach Luftkampf bei Heimflug versuchte Notlandung, Absturz While flying home following aerial combat, crashed in a failed emergency landing Bf 109 G-6 W.Nr. 15478 100% damage Ofw. Grauvogel, Josef gefallen base: Neubiberg airfield source: Reschke, JG301&302 page 48 Apparently this was a daylight operation, because JG 301 was not active during the night of 18-19 March when RAF Bomber Command raided Frankfurt am Main.
