18-3-1944 I./JG 301
Reichenau an der Rax (3 km west of), Neunkirchen district (Austria) Nach Luftkampf bei Heimflug versuchte Notlandung, Absturz While flying home following aerial combat, crashed in a failed emergency landing Bf 109 G-6 W.Nr. 15478 100% damage Ofw. Grauvogel, Josef gefallen base: Neubiberg airfield source: Reschke, JG301&302 page 48 Apparently this was a daylight operation, because JG 301 was not active during the night of 18-19 March when RAF Bomber Command raided Frankfurt am Main. |
