Re: Flt Lt Guy Pease, 268 Sq, Mustang pilot, PoW
Both he and Mell appear to have been shot down by Fw Siegfried Lemke and Uffz Heinrich Gawenat of 1./JG 2

Re: Flt Lt Guy Pease, 268 Sq, Mustang pilot, PoW
Jochen Prien states that it was Gawenat's first victory and his second was 31 Dec 43 so we have a disagreement on the name unless Peukert came from Tony Wood's listing?

Re: Flt Lt Guy Pease, 268 Sq, Mustang pilot, PoW
Back when I was trying to track down the details from the Luftwaffe side many years ago, Tony Wood was one of the primary sources as well as a couple of researchers/authors active back then in early 2000's on JG2 and Luftwaffe claims cross-referencing. One of them sent me a print out - like from an old fax machine from the microfilm reader - from the microfilm copy of the Luftwaffe records he was working from which showed the claims for that day - which tallied with what Tony had. That was the basis for what I have. The discussion thread you linked to dates from a later timeframe, so may be indicative of later research using different sources. So could be Gawenat or Peukert based on the different research and sources.
