Ju88G shot down 1/2.1.1945
On this date FLt RJ Foster of 604 Squadron claimed three Ju88G nightfighters. Can anyone identify the possible victims of his attacks? This pilot had already claimed two other German nightfighters, a Ju88C-6 of NJG2 in the Meditteranean in 1943, and a He219 in September 1944.

Re: Ju88G shot down 1/2.1.1945
His claims were location A59 2019 hrs; E9931 2040 hrs and E65 2109hrs. Busy day and night and I can count at least 13 Gs lost in combat (not to Flak) from a cursory glance

Re: Ju88G shot down 1/2.1.1945
JU88 A59 2019 hrs - possibly IV./NJG3 Ju88G6 WNr 620890 (D5+NV), which crashed near Twente. No other aircraft crashed in the same region.
JU88 E9931 2040 hrs - possibly IV./NJG2 Ju88G6 WNr 620430 (4R+PV), which crashed near Kirsel, NE of Uedem. The only other aircraft to crash in the same region were two NJG1 Bf110s, one of which was shot down by F/L Etienne of 406 Sqdn JU88 E65 2109hrs - certainly III./NJG2 Ju88G6 WNr 620768 (4R+OS), which crashed near Mill, in the Netherlands. |

Re: Ju88G shot down 1/2.1.1945
Can I just say how astonished and pleased by the range of knowledge by our forumites. Not only the knowledge but the willingness to share this. My interest in Foster is only that he claimed several victories in a Mosquito NFXVII and that they were predominantly German nightfighters. Four claimed in the Mosquito, and another flying a Beaufighter in the Meditteranean.
