Re: Eduard Isken
Hi Michel
Firstly the old Prien JG 77 volumes are somewhat out of date i.e before the mikrofilms were available. Secondly often a mikrofilm will give a grid reference rather than a place name, trouble is these grid references are not unique, there will be several grid references the same, but many, many KM's apart(but never close)....basically you need to know approximately where the unit is operating. Then there is calculating the place from a correct grid reference, they are often in a place with no local towns. Lets just say the grid reference is between Harburg and Bremen. both SW of Harburg and NE Bremen would be correct and the same place. There is also the complication of differing spellings in different languages, and place name changes post-war. I recently had a whole clump of places correctly questioned. I had calculated from grid references, knowing where this unit was stationed at this time, but they had moved to exactly the area where the grid reference was identical to that before....many, many KM's apart ! Hope this clears up the conflicting data a little. Kind Regards Johannes |

Re: Eduard Isken
Yeah,it's still confusing these contradictions concerning a "single" fact.
If we add the relative reliability of these "Abschusse"...these claims seem unjustified to me by comparing with the US losses...."the dark side" of its other claims (total for ex.)...that's a lot for one guy. Best Regards Michel |
