Unless the 3-4 aerial victories are not accepted, and relate to his last aerial combats against Japanese dive-bombers which however valorous are inconclusive.

Not being pedantic but the two Kates claimed on 23 June 1944 were actually two Jills shot down on 22 June 1944 as per the ACA.

Last recorded air victory of sorts for VC-65 must have been on 22 Feb 1945 when a Japanese balloon was shot down by CO Lt Floyd A. Johnston in an FM-2, 12 miles north of NAAS North Bend, Oregon.
