Re: British war crimes involving Luftwaffe aircrew 31 August 1940

A well known BOB incident occurred on 15 September 1940. The details are described in Parker's Luftwaffe Crash Archive, Vol. 4 p. 430. Do 17Z Wn.2361 F1+FH of 1./KG 76 was downed over central London and "the pilot baled out and came down at Kennington, where he was fiercely attacked by the crowds, who tore his parachute and harness to shreds". Obltn Robert Zehbe 53576/364 severely wounded, died 16th September 1940. Brookwood, Surrey.

K Report & LCA. Again how could Collier be so sure? With time and lack of living witnesses, I am afraid you will never get to the truth

Hi Chris

May I ask what the reports you mention actually state?

Many thanks in advance.

Re: British war crimes involving Luftwaffe aircrew 31 August 1940

The main text says:

"Started from Abbeville. The aircraft was attacked by Hurricanes, the wireless operator being wounded in the hand and the pilot broke off the flight. Shortly afterwards there was an explosion which may have been caused by AA fire, the aircraft going into a spin and the wireless operator baled out from 800ft. The pilot was killed in the crash"
