Re: RKT Harries, Friedrich looking for info
Hello Mike,
Harries was one of the first from KG 76 to fly the Arado Ar 234. According to documents compiled by Karl R. Pawlas in Arado Ar 234 Der erste Strahlbomber der welt, (1976), p.195 and p. 222, he made his first familiarization flight at Lärz on 16 July 1944 in W.Nr 140101 between 15:35 and 16:15. The next day he made three flights in the same plane: a training flight between 10:52 and 11:38, a high altitude flight to 10,000 m. between 15:16 and 16:19, and a one-engine flight between 19:17 and 20:00. On 21 July 1944 he transferred WNr. 140105 from Alt-Lonnewitz to Lärz between 20:44 and 21:12. Jim |
