1940 - scrapyard of No.21 Aircraft Depot at Chateau Bougon
Hi all,
is there somebody who is interesting in the scrapyard of No.21 Aircraft Depot at Chateau Bougon and try match all wreck s there with their serial numbers? I´m interesting mainly in Hawker Hurricane on this scrapyard - there P2959 without wings and another Hurri without wings and without engine. Thanks Faenor |

Re: 1940 - scrapyard of No.21 Aircraft Depot at Chateau Bougon
Maybe it might be worth re-visiting this thread.
Combining, with the info above with some of my own, we get: Bristol Blenheim L9190 53 Sqn Fairey Battle K9201 VO-M 98 Sqn K9202 VO-B 98 Sqn (recorded as such, but I seem to have code as N) K9218 VO-J 98 Sqn K9254 218 Sqn K9327 218 Sqn K9348 88 Sqn K9441 88 Sqn K9452 98 Sqn L4948 142 Sqn L5436 QT-F 142 Sqn (only marked F on one side) L5462 RH-G (or E) 88 Sqn – confirmation of code anyone? N2150 PH-Y 12 Sqn P2190 GB-X 105 Sqn P5238 QT-X 142 Sqn (recorded as such, but photos seem to show it being uncoded?) Hawker Hurricane L1757 1 Sqn L1974 1 Sqn N2381 LE-X 242 Sqn P2540 87 Sqn P2559 17 Sqn (confirmation anyone?) - it was SOC on 1 Jul 40, annotated as missing. Does anyone have any idea of what actually happened to it? P2959 SD-R 501Sqn (recorded as such, but photos seem to show it being uncoded?) P3045 1 Sqn – P3683 242 Sqn P3779 242 Sqn Codes highlighted in bold are photo-proven. Further input very welcome. Andy |
