Re: Roderick Chisholm claim list
this is from the Airwar 1941 series by john Foreman and is rather dated on his mar and Apr claims:
13/14 mar 41 doesn't identify claims 9/10 Apr 41 has the KGr 100 claim but has the other as probably I/KG 27 11/12 Apr has one as St/II/KG 26. Has the other as II/KG 54 29/30 Apr has 3/KG 4 8/9 Jul has 7/KG 4 has the damaged as a Ju 88 of IV or Erg/KG 30 engine shot out crashs in France crew KIA Notes on his other claims 2/3 Jul 43 possibly JU 88D of 3(F)/122 18/19 Nov 43 possibly bf 110F #4320 2/NJG 6 crew bails out or NCA has shot down by friedly fighter |

Re: Roderick Chisholm claim list
I do have his biography stored somewhere, and if memory does not fail me (have read it some 15 years ago or plus), he shot down another Beaufighter or Blenheim (Friendly Fire) on one of his sorties, isn't it?
I always wondered which machines and crew he shot down...and thanks to you now we do have a good idea. WELL DONE and THANKS A. |

Re: Roderick Chisholm claim list
Hello,
Thank you so much for your reply. So the corrections are : 9/10 Apr 1941 He 111H-5 W.Nr 3692 "1G + OA" of Stab/KG-27 piloted by Stfkpt Hptm Heinrich Mellmann failed to return from a mission to Birmingham, and crashed into the English Channel. 11/12 Apr 1941 He 111H-5 W.Nr 3629 "1H + GD" of Stab III/KG-26 piloted by Ofw Hans Büttner. The He 111H-5 was lost the night of 11/12 April, 1941 on the return flight after the Bristol bombing raid. For the damaged Ju 88 of IV or Erg/KG 30 that crashed in France I couldn't find any information. Regards George PS : On 8/9 May 1941 Chisholm mistakenly thought the silhouette of the 600 Sqn Beaufighter M1F T4641 was hostile, possibly a Ju 88 and shot it down. F / O Woodward & Sgt Lipscombe baled out. |
