Sea Search info
Hi,
I would like to clarify if a sea search by a crew counted as an operation with Bomber Command. In a nutshell, the family of chap I am researching insist that a sea-search was counted as a op and should be credited to his overall tally of operations. When I asked where this came from, they told the IBCC. Until then, I was unaware that this was the case, and having checked about 60 log books I have, ranging in dates from January 1941-May 1945. None who flew sea searches counted them as an op. That said, all my log books are from squadrons of 3 Group. Was 3 Group the exception? TIA Steve
