Unidentified pilot within 1./JG 53
Hi Researchers
Have an unidentified pilot claiming a P-40 on the Northern edge of Stalingrad on 14th September 1942 with 1./JG 53 at 0639 hrs 2000 metres altitude. It certainly is not Oberfeldwebel Karl Kolb. Firstly it's an Unteroffizier, the aircraft type(IL-2) in the claim above heavily suggests this four letter surname begins "L" and certainly the second letter is an "O", looks like "Loch" or something similar. Happy hunting Kind Regards Johannes |
