Information concerning the loss of August Heer - killed 25.04.43 over Sicily

Hi,

Can anyone provide information on the loss of Gustl (August) Heer who was killed on the 25th April 1943 over Sicily.

The seller gave information that he was from 1 Staffel I Nachtjagdgeschwader 2 but I could not find his name on the search bar on the Forum.

Any help would be appreciated as always.

All I could find was on the VDK site - Flg August Heer death/missing 25.4.1943 at CastelVetrano Sicily it gives his dob as 26.4.1924 at Pfronten-Kappel so lost the day before his 19th birthday . The site goes onto to say they did not recover his body in their reburial programme at Motta St Anastasi by Catania Sicily . I could not find him on the GQM site for up to to a month after his date loss or find him in the Balss book of Nightfighter losses . Did the seller give any confirmation if he was aircrew . CastelVetrano is by the sea making the 25th.April as the possible date of recovery of a body rather that the actual date of death .

He was part of ground crew (Feinmechaniker) and killed by a rolling aircraft (possibly Ju 88 C-6) "Überrollt von startendes Flugzeug."
