Curtis Lloyd Utterback (1924-1991)
Served in WW2, Korea and Vietnam. I have come across this fellow as XO to the 352nd FG "Ace" Bill Whisner of 25th FIS/51st FIW in 1952 but am interested in his career both prior to Korea and afterwards. He is shown on his gravestone as a WW2, Korea and Vietnam veteran,
Major Utterback was c.o. of 37 Flying Training Squadron (AETC) in 1959. He retired a Lieutenant Colonel and died in 1991. regards Keith |

Promoted to 1st Lt on 19 March 1948.
He's is mentioned here in a 1964 newspaper: https://www.newspapers.com/article/t...reenli/724087/ In a Congressional Record of 1951, he's mentioned to be an F-86 pilot with the 61st Fighter Squadron at Selfridge AFB, Michigan. Re: Curtis Lloyd Utterback (1924-1991)
Thanks Leendert. It seems certain that he was not on active service in WW2. Interesting that he was in the 61st FIS.
best regards Keith |

In the Victoria (TX) Advocate newspaper of 24 Sept 1944 he's described as a 'cadet lieutenant'.
You'll have noticed his enlistment record: https://aad.archives.gov/aad/record-...g=1&rid=284192 Regards, Leendert |
