Re: Capt. Manuel S Martinez USAAF

Santiago,

You can find and order 1 Air Commando Group files thru this website: https://airforcehistoryindex.org/search.php

Type GROUP/0001/AIR COMMANDO and the time period you look for ('American style': MM/DD/YYYY) and results will appear. Click left on Document to see the Reel to order with the AFHRA.

Also see an award card here for his 8th AF time (https://catalog.archives.gov/id/1395...ect-thumb--286) and another with the name F/O Manuel S. Martinez, but with a different T-number that points to FEAF service: https://catalog.archives.gov/id/1395...ect-thumb--287

Please also see this award card, now likely with his O-number: https://catalog.archives.gov/id/1334...bjectPage=1098

You may want to narrow down your search to the 5th Fighter Squadron (Commando) where Martinez reportedly was CO. Operated from bases in India with P-51s (1945).

Regards,
Leendert
