Re: Lysander victory

thanks for the info. I made a post on the axishistoryforum.com Finland sub section.

On 3 sept 1941 FAF Lysander LY-121 crew SSGT E Pakarinen (P) & PFC S Pesu (G) was FTL and both lightly wounded by I-16s of 155 IAP flown by Major DS Shpak and Lt VA Martynov. Martynov was LIA by return fire and his I-16 crashed. He had 2 victories and was pousumously awarded the Order of Lenin. The I-16s were returning from a raid on Vasrsila airfield where Blenhiem BL-139 was burnt and Blenhiems BL-142 and BL-143 were damaged.

Re: Lysander victory

Sorry for the late response but here comes a few claims.

Regarding claims in France found these in Lysander Special by Bruce Robertson
  • 18th May 1940: 1 x Hs 126 Destroyed by Lysander from 16 Sqn Pilot F/O D. Weston Burt, AG Cpl Barlow. I have not checked the ORB.
  • 21 May 1940: 2 x Me 109 Destroyed by Lysander from 16 Sqn with Pilot P/P P.G. Dexter and AG A/M A.C. Webb. At least one shot down according to Lysander Special but one each by pilot and AG according to Those Other Eagles by Chistopher Shores
Fighter Command have one Probable FW 190 on the 10th August 1942 by Pilot Norman Peat, RCAF and AG F/Sgt Geoffrey Guy, RAFVR, 277 Sqn

Cheers,
Peter
