thanks for the info. I made a post on the axishistoryforum.com Finland sub section.
On 3 sept 1941 FAF Lysander LY-121 crew SSGT E Pakarinen (P) & PFC S Pesu (G) was FTL and both lightly wounded by I-16s of 155 IAP flown by Major DS Shpak and Lt VA Martynov. Martynov was LIA by return fire and his I-16 crashed. He had 2 victories and was pousumously awarded the Order of Lenin. The I-16s were returning from a raid on Vasrsila airfield where Blenhiem BL-139 was burnt and Blenhiems BL-142 and BL-143 were damaged. |
