Need Help Finding a Book Title

Gang:

This is NOT an aviation book (well if you consider choppers, it MIGHT be);

I'm looking for a non fiction book title: I had read it YEARS ago; The author was a US Army Captain assigned to a 'hard luck' infantry company in the 1st Air Car, pre-Tet Offensive, stationed somewhere in the mountains around Bong Son. The author also recounted bits of his earlier tour advising the ARVN. Anyway, he does a great job leading his company to payback in Bong Son before being transferred up north near Khe Sanh to oppose the NVA up there. He ended the book getting a chunk of his tibia shot out of his leg (the book interweaves his unpleasant stay in hospital);
The ONLY thing I recall from the title was the word "SIx" being in it (I guess part of his callsign) and possibly remembering the author made it to his Colonelcy before recently passing away in his eighties
Does it ring any bells with anybody?

Thanks ahead of time

No he's DEFINITELY a Grunt Captain in charge of a company for the 1st Cav, and he did stay in the service and reached LTC even after having a couple of inches shot out of his tibia. And "Six" was definitely his radio callsign--'Six' usually indicates a unit commander.

Not "Six", but 3 letters beginning with "S".................

Ski: Memoirs of a Vietnam Vet
by Arnold Lee Sutton

Even Better:

Vietnam in My Rearview: Memoir of a 1st Cavalry Combat Soldier, 1966-1967 Paperback – July 16, 2021
by Dennis D. Blessing Sr. (Author)

In this heartfelt memoir, Dennis Blessing, Sr., shares his experiences as a grunt in the First Cavalry Division in 1966 and 1967. Blessing's story is drawn from his own remembrance and from the 212 letters that he wrote to his wife while deployed. Among his many combat experiences was the battle of Bong Son in May 1966, in which his platoon was nearly wiped out, going from 36 to only 6 troopers in just a few hours. Told with honesty and vulnerability, the book combines gripping combat with personal reflection, and the author hopes that his story will help other veterans escape the shadow of the war.
