Lockheed F-5B performance

Does anyone know the typical cruising speed of an F-5B (or the P-38J it derived from)? Everything I can find at the moment just quotes the maximum.

Re: Lockheed F-5B performance

Hi Nick. The Flight Tests (Wright Field) for P-38J types are in Chapter VI Para. C here; dated 4 Feb.1944.

General reports here, they may include cruising etc....

Re: Lockheed F-5B performance

Thanks, that helps. I'd still be interested to know what a typical cruise speed was during operations. With many aircraft it seems to be around 60–65% of top speed but I'd prefer a true figure if I can get it

Re: Lockheed F-5B performance

Maybe in here, afraid I havn't time to go all through. "Performance Data" (pp.33-34) and The Manual with "Operating Data" (p.67). Could be useful for future reference anyway.
