Station Defence Flight Longbridge 1940

Hi guys

The following is a quote from Malcolm Atkins' "To the Last Man" (page 111)

"The Austin Aero Factory at Longbridge had two pilots in the Home Guard unit who had the use of two Hurricanes, supplied by the Ministry of Aircraft Production. They were kept on the works airfield at Cofton, on the edge of Worcestershire. Although they flew on several patrols, to the disappointment of their pilots, they never engaged the enemy."

Can anyone add more? Who were the pilots? What date period?

Cheers
Brian
