Misterious death of Sgt. Crossland Peter (No. 148 Sq.) 26.11.43. Yugo
Hi all
On 26.11.1943. Halifax Mk.II "JN888" from No. 148 Sq. flew night mission Hundon "somewhere in Yugo" and returned safely sometimes at midnight on 27.11.43. However Sgt. Crossland Peter who was part of the Halifax crew was apparently KIA on the same date, and was buried later in Belgrade military cemetery. Sources: AIR-27-995-22, AIR-27-995-22, https://www.cwgc.org/find-records/fi...eter-crosland/ What happened ? thanks in advance Antun |

According to the RAF Commands forum entry at:
https://www.rafcommands.com/database...php?qnum=65574 he fell out of the aircraft after feeling unwell. His body was not found until April 1947. |
