Whitley Mk.V bearing the Luftwaffe code DL+XD info sought

Dear all,

I was recently pointed by one of my German research friends to an interesting German report detailing Allied aircraft that were captured and (test)flown by the Luftwaffe. One of the entries is for a Whitley Mk.V bearing the Luftwaffe code DL+XD. Does anybody have the British serial number for this Whitley? And do any photos of this aircraft exist?

Cheers and thanks for any info, Theo

Re: Whitley Mk.V bearing the Luftwaffe code DL+XD info sought

"DL+XD", Maybe one of these -
https://www.luftwaffe-experten.org/f...worth-whitley/,.
"DL+XC" was B-17F, 41-24585, Downed in France on December 12th, 1942.
So maybe a late 1942 or early 1943 Whitley loss ?
