would anyone have any information they are willing to share regarding the unit etc which attacked the above

If you had a time it might help as there were loads of German bombers operating to the west of the UK that day thanks to the Bismarck

Hi Chris

I have asked someone to copy by a file relating to the from the National Archives in the meantime according to internet the first attack was at 10:12pm follows by a second attack which did the most damage

Sounds like II./KG 55 which attacked a series of ships around this time. The PlQ of the first attack of 15W/6171 puts it on the western tip of Cornwall which seems to match with Cape Cornwall

air War 1941 has KG 27 and 55 on anti-ship ops this day. I have some penciled in notes source unknown saying it was KG 55.

Definitely II./KG 55. No mention in KG 27 history of such attacks during evening/night
