Re: Me 109G-14 and FW 190S in Köthen, Germany 1945

Looks like I found another picture of that G-14 from 97th ID website (see page 1 of the thread):

Schwarze 14 of an unknown II. Gruppe ?

There is another 109 in the background.

Cheers

Hello Lumabe,

Sorry, nothing else on my side... Did you check Rodeike's book?

Cheers

Hello Marc-André,

I don't have this book.

I have the books about the emblems of the units of luftwaffe and none emblem look as on this on the FW-190 S-8 and also none emblem about jg 110. Maybe it was a personnel emblem ? This is very rare on a biplace plane.

Thank you very much Marc-André.

Best regards,

Lumabe.

Dear Lumabe,

I cannot scan the picture in Peter Rodeike's book. The emblem istelf is very faintly seen, due to the glossy shine of the engine cowling.

Translated freely from the German , the photo is labelled as follows:

"An American GI standing in front of another FW 190S-8, "White 30" of 1./JG 110, which sports on the engine cowling an emblem - probably the Gruppe emblem. "

No further precisions are given; sorry!

Cheers

Marc
