36th FW non combat ships
Good Evening, friends of 36th TFW (FBW, FDW etc.) !
I'm looking for the serials of the C-47, T-33, T-39 and Rescue Helicopter H-43 "Huskie", which were once assigned to the 36th TFW at Bitburg AFB, Germany. Can anyone help me ? Thanks ! Horst Weber |

Re: 36th FW non combat ships
Horst,
Try this link: http://www.scramble.nl/mil/show/show...s/bitbur68.htm It's a 1968 show report and has some of the types of 36th TFW you're looking for. Regards, Leendert |

Re: 36th FW non combat ships
Good morning Leendert !
Thank you very much for the information. Since I live very close to this ex-USAFE base, I have some access to former employees etc., gaining information, photos and so on. A conclusion of my requests for non-combat a/c's, assigned to the 36th TFW in the 50' - 70' is as follows: - 1 C-47 to the Wing - 3 T-33 (one to each Squadron) - ?? T-39 (one to each Squadron when T-33 struck off charge) ??? - 1 H-43 "Husky" to the Wing ?? - (?) AT-6 in the 50' (probably training a/c prior T-33) These are my suggestions and any corrections are highly appreciated. Thanks again, Horst Weber |
