Re: Photo Nieuport
I wonder if the element I'm refering to has been cut from the tail, either that or the tail bears a rather unusual marking, not the I could say what it is either.

Re: Photo Nieuport
Hello,
Currently on ebay is a photo of Nieuport 27 N5246 at: https://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-Nieupo...kAAOSwl5dfPdh3 This machine had served with N87, but is it a trick of the light or do I see the hat of the 94 Aero Squadron on the fuselage. It certainly does not look like the cat of N 87. Regards, Clint |

Re: Photo Nieuport
Hi Clint
You have fingertrouble here, so edit your type to N.28 (not 27) Since the French never used the N.28 as a frontline aircraft I think (since 5246 is a very, very low and unknown N.28 number) that you are looking at N6246 which indeed served with 94PS roughly March - July 1918 Cheers Stig |

Re: Photo Nieuport
Hello Stig,
I believe that the machine shown is a Nieuport 27 and not the result of finger problems, which admittedly have not been entirely absent in the past . Check this out: http://albindenis.free.fr/Site_escad...adrille087.htm Regards, Clint Last edited by musec04; 20th August 2020 at 15:32. |

Re: Photo Nieuport
Not sure I follow you Clint
Have you given the wrong e-bay site? This one which at least I hit when clicking on your link gets me to a Type 28 (even the sub-title says so) https://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-Nieupo...kAAOSwl5dfPdh3 Cheers Stig |

Re: Photo Nieuport
Hi Stig,
Apologies, I was rushing out when I posted, but have now entered the correct link. Also since getting Back I've checked Soltan and Davilla and N 87 used the Nieuport 27 according to that source. Regards, Clint |

Re: Photo Nieuport
Well Clint
I don't have any problem with the Albert Denis site. I have a problem with the e-bay site where you say you have located a Nieuport 27, possibly N5246 (see your post 4 above) That post still links to a Nieuport 28 I do agree with what the Denis site says, but I don't agree your post 92 has anything to do with that Nieuport 27. Cheers Stig |

Re: Photo Nieuport
Got it,finally, I think
The two photos show different aircraft, which, had I not obsessed over the serial number i should have seen. I becane fixated on N5246, which is indeed a Nieuport 27. I completely ignored the actual photo after posting it from ebay as I didn't understand the problem you were pointing out. Based on the struts alone its clear that the ebay aircraft is a Nieuport 28 and its serial upon blowing up the image large enough is N 6246. Regards, Clint |
