Re: Losses in the last days of the Reich

Hello for me it's OK.
...
What about that Bf 109 G-6 WNr. 78117 ?????
19/1. 15./JG 51, Braune 5 Bruch 15%.
What should I read? I already have a WNr 781118 in my list of losses. one JG 51, same period ...
Any suggestion?

Thanks. Franck.

Byron - Thanks for doing this. It's very much appreciated. 9 and 10 are identical, both being Page 1 of QU Meldung 1025. Page 2 (which should have been numbered 5378 by the British) is missing.

"typo" comes from "type writer" - always human beings writing this...
And I don´t trust the classifications "G-6", "G-14" and "G-14/AS".
Concerning WNr.78117:
IMO it is helpful to list it twice-
under 781117 and 78117?, hoping one listing can be removed some day...

Hello Roland,
Good idea, never thought about that solution ... Since I know human errors I guess the guy typed two 1 instead of three; you saw I had no hesitation comparing with 781118. After a full day in February 45 and at the end of page... It's just a miracle having done this in such conditions.

As for your first sentence: Why that? I'm curious to know it.
In listing provided by Byron you have, TOO, two G-14/ASMY or "T" last letter being hardly visible in both case and he typed G-14 ASMY without slash and a huge space.
Maybe it's time to have an explanation about this subtype too, no?

Regards, Franck.

Re: Losses in the last days of the Reich

Hummmm start to be complicated ....
G-10/DY G-14/DY G-14/ASMY (again) one B 4/DY which obviously is a K-4 (WNr.331509) and a G-1, WNr.166360 !!

DY and ASMY for what ??

Thanks Byron.

PS: for both G-4 and B 4 I have an explanation: The guy in LFl 6 HQ received report from front units and never heard about K-4; so he made his own corrections, G-4 was most familar. Note too: letters T and Y are close on type writer and G is just above B.
