Chris

As far as I know there was nothing called A/B C4. Reason was the German training system didn't mix in the C standard training with the A/B one.

Looking at known sysmbols, I must say I am still with Frank. The photo is fuzzy so hard to be 100%, but it looks very much like the known shield of A/B 61.

Cheers
Stig

Re: eBay: German intrest

The seller's caption to this SM.95 is surely misleading.
If the digit 6 is anything to go by, this is most likely nc 41006 which did not make its first flight until 1946 and cannot be classified as captured. As far as I know nc 41006 was built and civil registered in Italy only, post war.

Another IWM photo by the same seller, nc 41003 here
https://www.ebay.com/itm/V746-WWII-I...75.c100623.m-1
is more correctly said to be captured, even if I believe its transport and evaluation was being done with the acceptance of the, by now new and Allied, Italian Government.

Cheers
Stig

Re: eBay: German intrest

... Bü 181: DR+KR FFS A 61 December 1943 to May 1944.
... Bü 181 DR+KQ (our photo) FFS A 61 December 1943

But obviously the crest kept A/B and the reported dates aren't restrictive.
