Re: eBAy: Captured german planes

Photographed at Messerschmitt "Oberbayerische Forschungsanstalt" clandestine development department at Oberammergau. Taken in April 1945 when late snowfalls occurred. Just watch the Bad Wörishofen photographs.
Very interesting photograph - prototype seems to be undamaged and only shoved outside the hangar to crete space for whatsoever.

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes

Thank you Snautzer and RolandF. I do not see ETIS under the military abbreviations I know. The photo mentions a theatre. In some cases, intelligence documents would capitalize all the letters for a town or other key location.

Hi Ed,

http://www.natoschool.nato.int/Organ...tory/1933-1953

The above source states "... the prototype P.1101 and a Me-109 [sic] were found in Building 615 now housing the Manfred Woerner Lecture Hall...". I think what the GI meant by "theater" was a lecture hall.

best regards,

Jim Geens

Hi Jim,

Thank you very much. I have long been interested in this subject, and the immediate post-War period. A complete history of the CIC has yet to be written, as well as what the French and British did with captured material. I do have a rough idea of what was captured but there appears to have been a rivalry between the Allies going on in the various occupation zones.

Regards,

Ed West
