Re: eBAy: Captured german planes

Hi
Does anyone know where the nice picture of the Me262 had been taken?
Maybe in a shooting range? Is that a small yellow band at the tail?
Thanks for your help.

Hello Snautzer,

I want to again tank you for your postings. I am aware just how much hard work is involved.

Respectfully,

Steve Sheflin

PS: I believe that the Fw 190 (1024) in Post #174 is a Mistel component abandoned at Merseburg.

The photograph seems to be taken after the late snowfalls of April '45 in Southern Germany, abandoned after work at the port jet engine. The "band" is a tape covering the joint between prefab tail and fuselage as well as between fuselage and gun compartment.
The camo points to a late Obertraubling/"Stauffen" jet in the 500??? range.

Regards
RolandF

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes

Thanks Karl

LEMB: WNr.113345 - Me262A-1a. Flown by ferry pilot Ofw.Werner Dahlitz of FlÜG.1 at Erding on 12 April 1945, from 17:25 to 17:35. It was found abandoned by US troops at Oberschleissheim

Have not seen this particular picture before but indeed 10+ pictures do exist.
