Re: Photos Japanese Army Airforce
Hi Clint. This is 19th Sentai probably on Leyte, one of the unit insignia using a stylised number ie. "1" and "9".

Re: Photos Japanese Army Airforce
Hello,
Currently on ebay are two photos of JAAF aircraft : 1. A flightline of Mitsubishi Ki-51 https://www.ebay.com/itm/30409936773...IAAOSwJcJhEKXe 2. Does anyone have an opinion? https://www.ebay.com/itm/30409936236...QAAOSw4ZhhEKVT 3. This is also rather unusual,if the sellers' caption is at all accurate.Which it may well not be. https://www.ebay.com/itm/38365678702...kAAOSwWnReNFYF Regards, Clint |

Photo 2 looks like one of the Navy Gloster Sparrowhawks with cowling removed.

Re: Photos Japanese Army Airforce
Hi Nick,
Thanks for the response. I had identified the Army Type 92 Reconnaissance aka 2MR8 in picture 3,hence my comment about the item being unusual.I'm pretty sure I have not previously seen a Pacific War era example of this type, albeit given the production numbers I guess it is far from impossible that the aircraft saw use with training establishments after withdrawl from frontline units.I would love to see more info on any 1941-45 use of the 2MR8 if anyone has anything. Regards, Clint |

Hello,
Currently on ebay are two, admittedly less than stellar, photos of Mitsubishi Ki-21 captioned as New Guinea,so perhaps 14 Sentai machines at: https://www.ebay.com/itm/31363977717...cAAOSwdjhhGajb Regards, Clint |

Currently on ebay is a aerial photo of a Nakajima Ki-43 of 11 Sentai at: https://www.ebay.com/itm/16502476114...QAAOSwtwhhHQZ3 The item is described as a poster panel, suggesting it may have already been widely seen. But its new to me for wht ever that is worth. Regards, Clint |

Re: Photos Japanese Army Airforce
It's also the Ki-84 once owned by the Planes of Fame Air Museum. The photo is from the late 60's with the "tall" American flying it with the canopy open. I believe there is a video of it as well.https://ww2db.com/images/air_ki84_2.jpg
