Thanks everyone for this additional info. I think we can safely say that the aircraft in the picture is the T2505 9 Squadron WS-W.

Hello,

Does anyone else know of any other photos of the wreckage of this Wellington, perhaps showing the fuselage markings and any insignia that it might have carried. The two known photos show only close-ups of small parts of the wreck.

Hi,

15 years have passed since the last post, but are you still interested in this crash?

My grandfather was at the site on 30th September 1940 and took photos and filmed the wreck being salvaged, the recovery of the body of one of the crewmen and, I think, Sgt. Oliver being fed.

The first message suggests a photo was originally posted on this thread, but I can't see it – is it just me, or has it gone?
