Hello Nokose,
The Mosquito crashed near the village of Lijnden at 23.55 hrs local time. With regard to Hptm Schnell's claims I can state that lighting conditions are good at 20.12 (!) hrs local in summer time. I believe he misidentified his opponent and his adversary was in fact a Spitfire. The Matlask Wing, which was on escort duty for a Ramrod to Schiphol, got into combat with Bf 109's near Zandvoort. Thank You Hans. Here by 18:30 it's already about dark. So the Mosquito is definitely out of the day losses.
I'll have to check the information in the other posts more carefully for the clues I'm looking for. |
