Thanks Chris, I wonder why this information was not noted in MAW3? At least, one sentence on the accident would cover the event.
Regarding, so-called traitors in post war Germany, it appears they were shunned for many years after the war. There was case of a Naval NCO who destroyed the explosives at one of the French ports to prevent demolition of the port by the retreating Wehrmacht. He was denied a pension, and had to become a French citizen. Whereas, fervent Nazis rapidly became assimilated in society and were never denied a pension.. |
