Re: Photos German Tauben

Hello,

Currently on ebay is a photo of a crashed Taube captioned by the seller as belonging to FFA 22 with a personal name of some form

Other photos of aircraft captioned as belonging to FFA 22 can be seen at

Re: Photos German Tauben

Clint

The name is possibly Jatho since he did build his own version of the Taube.

I find it a bit odd FFA 22 should have kept such a name on their aircraft, so perhaps what we
thus see is a trainer used by a school somewhere?
Did Jatho himself operate any?

Cheers
Stilg

Re: Photos German Tauben

Good thinking Stig. I'd become fixated on whether it was a O or or U (slaps forehead).

I've had a look at the details for Jatho Tauben in de Vries and I think that the rudder on the machine in the photo very much resembles Jatho's Stahltaube, although the machine seems to differ in detail.Still very possibly his 1913/14 Taube. Not clear from de Vries or Lange's Typenhandbuch whether he operated his own aircraft at his training school.Definitelynumerous military in the photo though.

Clint

He,he Clint

I am usually quite weary of wrecks when things get twisted and bent and without
any references with me in the Greenland fiords my bet would still be with Jato.

Cheers
Stig
