Re: Photo French Flying Boat

Hello,

Currently on ebay is a photo of a Leveque Flying boat at:

https://www.ebay.it/itm/313826358055...IAAOSw4KRh14Ob

I'm not certain whether this is military or not.Although I suspect not. The same would apply to these photos of a Nieuport Floatplane:

https://www.ebay.it/itm/313826359169...cAAOSwDvBh14Oj

As well s several photos of Farman Seaplanes, although there are naval personnel in several of the the following photos:

But no military personnel in the Breguet Floatplane photo:

Re: Photo French Flying Boat

Hello,

Currently on ebay are a number of photographic stereo glass plates,of varying quality and interest of French WW.I era Naval aircraft.

Representative is this unusually marked (?) aircraft

https://www.ebay.fr/itm/355864816054...cAAOSweopmkW-Z

All the images can be found here

https://www.ebay.fr/sch/i.html?_dkr=...ravion&_sop=10

Any help with the identity of marked aircraft would be welcome as the subject is outside my comfort zone.

Regards,

Clint

Re: Photo French Flying Boat

Hi Clint

I checked with my French contacts and all the photos are believed to have been taken at
Cazaux in the spring of 1918

The aircraft marked T70H is a Tellier 200hp flying boat. This particular aircraft
was only in service for two months (April-May) before being transferred to the US Navy
Since Tellier used two different engine types, it is tricky so say which one it is.

The other flying boats are various FBA 100 - 150 hp models.

The Farman floatplanes did not receive any comments.

Cheers
Stig

Re: Photo French Flying Boat

Hi Stig,

Thanks again. A shame about the lack of responses to the Farmans, since as you know there are a number of options for aircraft based on the F.40.It would be nice if the seller posts more.Since the sellers postings seem to be ongoing fingers crossed.

Well anyway, enjoy your holiday. A cruise again?

Regards,

Clint

Re: Photo French Flying Boat

Will do Clint

Sitting in Liverpool waiting to board M/S Bolette on Friday.
First time ever in 'Pool, so a lot to see. Never a giant fan of the Beatles but I really enjoyed
Gerry Marsden and his Pacemakers.
When we crossed the Mersey this morning I just couldn't help but singing Ferry cross the Mersey.
Felt really good even in my tired bones....

Cheers
Stig
