Yes, I have now checked my records, the last name of this pilot was Raczak:

Regarding WNr 128, I have not been able to find a loss for this aircraft on 12.03.1943, but have this record for 19.03.1943:

And where are the informations about "my" F8+BB????
I'm always reading about F8+IK and that's not
the a/c I'm really interested in..

Hi, Hohentwiel

Well, chances are that it could prove difficult to find 'your' F8+BB, as the situation might well be that the loss you have seen a photographs of is one of a number of 'anonymous' losses when concerning the aircraft code.

As you will notice, the only situation were the codes are mentioned in the GenQu lists are when the aircraft and crew is considered missing. The other source for codes are usually the Namentliche Verlustemeldungen. So - given that your aircraft were damaged on an airfield it would not be posted missing, and if the crew were unhurt, there will be no Namentliche Verlustemeldung. So, your only hope then would be other sources or maybe a date on the back of the photograph...

And as the codes were reused - you cannot be certain that another loss for an aircraft with a known Werkenummer is the one you are looking for!

Regards,
Andreas

Re: Fw 200 F8+BB of KG 40

Hi Andreas,

thank you very much for your answer. I hope it is possible
to find more new informations later. I only can say that the
photo was taken between 7.40 and 10.42 in Bordeaux-Merignac.
The a/c flew only one mission against England before (documented
at the rudder). And at 2 photos in an old Podzun-Pallas magazine
(Waffenarsenal 131) we can see the nickname "Jupiter" at the nose
of the F8+BB. Is this a help?

Regards,
Sven.
