Re: Is 1st Lt Stephen PASCAL still MIA ?

I have read this conversational thread with particular interest because Stephen L. Pascal was my late father's first cousin and friend. In fact, I was named Stephen in his memory when I was born in 1955. The U.S. government did contact his half-sister in its search for DNA to compare with remains found in Germany. It also hired a genealogist. Stephen's sister has not be able to learn the results. We are fascinated and delighted to learn that Stephen had friends and even lovers in Belgium and would like to know more.

Re: Is 1st Lt Stephen PASCAL still MIA ?

Dear Pascal,

What a chance to speak to you and your family members ! I was 'desperated' by the way the dig had concluded. Tomorrow, I will meet my friend - for a detection session (!) - ,whose mother was in love with Stephen Louis Pascal, and tell him this very good news (thanks to the board also, amazing connection may be); oh yes, he remembers Stephen has only an half-sister.
My friend Thierry has pictures of Stephen as like memorabilia of him and especially the second ring wornt by Olympe, his 'fiancée' (remember Stephen wore the same ring when he was missing). We can share testimonies and anecdotes about him now but it is a pity that Olympe didn't know what happen to him up her death which occured only two years ago.

Hope to read you soon

Best regards

Oops!

Correction : Dear Stephen,...

The surname 'Pascal' looks like from 'latine' origin and is quite uncommon for US citizen. Moreover Thierry told me that Stephen has French origin. Can you confirm this?

Re: Is 1st Lt Stephen PASCAL still MIA ?

Dear M. Clinaz,

Yes, Pascal is an unusual as a family name, both in France and in the United States, but we are talking about the same Stephen Pascal. He was not French, but the grandson of a man of British descent who took a French name. I wonder if he spoke French?

Although it is astonishing that we have found each other (wonder of the internet) and will be able to exchange information, it is truly a pity that Olympe is gone.

Looking forward to further communication, oh, vous pouviez écrire en français si ce sera plus facile.

Stephen Pascal

Nicolas, maybe we can work together some time...I would be more then happy to assit you in any way and I am crazy enough to travel a distance to do this. I live near Aachen, Germany currently. This all depends on when and where the Army sends me next of course, but at least for the rest of 2009 I will still be here. Danny

Re: Is 1st Lt Stephen PASCAL still MIA ?

Hello,

Back from 2 weeks Holidays now... Well nice to hear from you!

Stephen : indeed a truly chance we came in touch. I don't know if Stephen spoke French, will ask to Thierry but he gave to Olympe his French-English dictionnary dedicated as a souvenir.

Danny: I am delighted we can maybe go further with that case and, perhaps, with others in Belgium. May be help you with ID of crashes along the Belgian border with Germany? Aachen isn't so far from Florennes AB so you will be my gest one day. 2009 would be for me also quiet for Army course.

Please check both your PM box

Best regards

Nicolas
