Re: Question for those expert in Bf109 G

Just for note;

The Americans found at Corbeil (Gare) in France an G-5 / AS serial 110351 DB 605 AS-O with MW-50 system and also found a G-5 at Haut-dÁndrieu with the same engine but with GM-1 system according with the Ai(g) 2 report.I also found a photo at Frape Book page 269 showing an Me 109 G-4 belonging to a Rec. unit using C-3 type fuel with MW-50 probably.

Eduardo.
Can you post the source for this photo or, better yet, post a scan of it ?

As for you question, DB 605 AS + GM 1 ran on B4. If Specht's machine had it, almost sure the GM 1 system of his G-5 had been converted to MW 50 usage.

BTW, there was no U3 version for G-5 (and it wasn't a MW 50 version on the G-6 either ).

Re: Question for those expert in Bf109 G

A 605AS-0 would be an early series engine. DB used this system to obtain trend information with initial production engines by using a shorter overhaul life. Main series would be -1.
Latest application of this I know is a DB605DM-0 (0 series DM around late summer '44 . Not seen 0 series later than this, ie, DB/DC/ASB/ASC.
